An interview with Rev. Liz Edman, author of “Queer Virtue”

October 6th, 2016

Reverend Liz Edman is an Episcopal priest, progressive social advocate, and author of the new book Queer Virtue: What LGBTQ People Know About Life and Love and How It Can Revitalize Christianity. An open lesbian, Edman was brought up by Christians whose positions challenged the social norms and Edman has continu ed that tradition.  Her new book positions the word “queer” as a verb, a breaking down of barriers between sexual orientations, between genders, and perhaps most radically between self and other.  I interviewed Reverend Edman about her faith, her philosophy, and her hopes for how queer experiences can contribute to Christianity in America.
